A RESOLUTION
To commend the members of the armed forces of the United States and to recognize their
tremendous service and the great sacrifices they make on behalf of their homeland.
WHEREAS, armed forces of the United States are spread around the world in more
than one hundred fifty countries, protecting American lives and interests, and being forever
vigilant that its citizens are safe as they travel the country and the world; and
WHEREAS, the month of May is traditionally used as a time of honor and
recognition of this nation's armed forces who have given their lives protecting this country's
interests during ceremonies surrounding Memorial Day.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana
does hereby commend all members of the armed forces of America and recognize that their
services and sacrifices are vital to the future of the United States, and this legislative body
does, in honor of these brave Americans, hereby proclaim the month of May 2013 as
Military Appreciation Month in the Louisiana Senate.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Adjutant General of the Louisiana Army National Guard.
