A RESOLUTION1 To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the2 death of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert.3 WHEREAS, Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert was a woman of limitless faith who loved4 to sing and give generously to others, and who invested her time and strength in the Bible,5 her church, her family, and her friends; and6 WHEREAS, she was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and actively attended7 University Baptist Church while growing up and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School8 in 1979; and9 WHEREAS, she attended Louisiana State University for three years before marrying10 the love of her life, Kevin Charles Robert; and11 WHEREAS, after moving to Houston, Texas, in 1982, she earned her Bachelor of12 Science degree in Elementary Education in 1983 from the University of Houston and13 brought the gift of knowledge and education to countless students in the many schools and14 Bible studies she taught across Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Louisiana; and15 WHEREAS, she found her ultimate teaching position in 1990 with the birth of her16 first child, Casey Lynne Robert, followed four years later with the birth of Kelly Jean17 Robert, two beautiful children she loved with all her heart; and18 SR NO. 93 SLS 13RS-1064 ORIGINAL Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, she was a past member of Tallowood Baptist Church, a charter member1 of Trinity Baptist Church in Katy, Texas, and current member of Kingsland Baptist Church,2 also in Katy, and served in the National Charity League, was an active tennis player at3 Willow Fork Country Club, and dedicated her time as a mentor in the Katy Independent4 School District; and5 WHEREAS, she is preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Shelby6 Howell Bartels; and7 WHEREAS, she is survived by her loving husband and daughters, her mother Mary8 Lynn Bartels, stepfather Chuck Goodwin of Baton Rouge, her brother Dean Bartels and his9 wife Michelle, her sister Holly Bartels, and her loving niece and nephew; and10 WHEREAS, Lisa's focus in life was to worship and love the Lord our God and to11 serve her family and friends, which included leading children and adult Bible studies,12 serving on committees, playing handbells, singing in the choir, and always passing the13 wisdom she received from her devotion to her loved ones; and14 WHEREAS, although she left the world too soon at fifty-one years old, she will15 forever be remembered by the countless lives she touched as a bright light of love, kindness,16 and hope.17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana18 does hereby express its solemn condolences upon the death of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the20 family of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert.21 The original instrument and the following digest, which constitutes no part of the legislative instrument, were prepared by McHenry Lee.
