Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2013 ENROLLED SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 93 BY SENATOR CLAITOR A RESOLUTION To express the sincere condolences of the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana upon the death of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert. WHEREAS, Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert was a woman of limitless faith who loved to sing and give generously to others, and who invested her time and strength in the Bible, her church, her family, and her friends; and WHEREAS, she was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and actively attended University Baptist Church while growing up and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1979; and WHEREAS, she attended Louisiana State University for three years before marrying the love of her life, Kevin Charles Robert; and WHEREAS, after moving to Houston, Texas, in 1982, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 1983 from the University of Houston and brought the gift of knowledge and education to countless students in the many schools and Bible studies she taught across Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Louisiana; and WHEREAS, she found her ultimate teaching position in 1990 with the birth of her first child, Casey Lynne Robert, followed four years later with the birth of Kelly Jean Robert, two beautiful children she loved with all her heart; and WHEREAS, she was a past member of Tallowood Baptist Church, a charter member of Trinity Baptist Church in Katy, Texas, and current member of Kingsland Baptist Church, also in Katy, and served in the National Charity League, was an active tennis player at Willow Fork Country Club, and dedicated her time as a mentor in the Katy Independent School District; and WHEREAS, she is preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Shelby Howell Bartels; and WHEREAS, she is survived by her loving husband and daughters, her mother Mary Lynn Bartels, stepfather Chuck Goodwin of Baton Rouge, her brother Dean Bartels and his wife Michelle, her sister Holly Bartels, and her loving niece and nephew; and SR NO. 93 ENROLLED Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, Lisa's focus in life was to worship and love the Lord our God and to serve her family and friends, which included leading children and adult Bible studies, serving on committees, playing handbells, singing in the choir, and always passing the wisdom she received from her devotion to her loved ones; and WHEREAS, although she left the world too soon at fifty-one years old, she will forever be remembered by the countless lives she touched as a bright light of love, kindness, and hope. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Senate of the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express its solemn condolences upon the death of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be transmitted to the family of Lisa Lynne Bartels Robert. PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE
