Henry Burns	HB No. 10
Abstract: Provides an exception to the prohibition against carrying firearms in an alcoholic
beverage outlet for law enforcement officers even though they are not acting in the
performance of their official duties.
Present law prohibits any person from possessing a firearm while on the premises of an alcoholic
beverage outlet and provides for criminal penalties including a maximum fine of $500, a term of
imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.
Present law contains exceptions for the owner or lessee of the establishment, an employee of the
owner or lessee, or a law enforcement officer acting in the performance of his official duties.
Proposed law retains present law except it removes the condition that the law enforcement officer
is acting in the performance of his official duties.
