Existing law provides for the crime of "Peeping Tom".
Existing law provides that "Peeping Tom" means one who peeps through windows or doors,
or other like places, situated on or about the premises of another for the purpose of spying
upon or invading the privacy of persons spied upon without the consent of the persons spied
upon, regardless of whether the "Peeping Tom" is upon the premises of the person being
spied upon.
Prior law provided that whoever violates these provisions of existing law shall be fined not
more than $500, imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.  
New law retains prior law penalties for a first offense but provides as follows for second and
subsequent violations of the provisions of existing law:
(1)For a second conviction - A fine of not more than $750, imprisonment for not more
than six months, or both.
(2)For a third or subsequent conviction - A fine of not more than $1,000, imprisonment
for not more than one year, or both.
Effective Aug. 1, 2014.
