Abstract: Requires that motor vehicle license plates be clearly and visibly displayed in an
upright position in the rear of the motor vehicle.
Present law (R.S.47:507) provides that motor vehicle permanent registration plates be securely
fastened to the assigned motor vehicle in an manner to prevent the plate from swinging, and at a
height not less than 12 inches from the ground from the bottom of such plate in a place and
position to be clearly visible, and shall be maintained free from foreign materials and in a
condition to be clearly legible.
Proposed law retains present law.
Proposed law provides that all permanent registration plates be affixed to the motor vehicle in an
upright position to be clearly visible.
