Abstract: Prohibits landfills used exclusively to dispose or store waste tire material.
Present law requires the secretary of the Dept. of Environmental Quality to adopt by regulation a
system for the permitting of all solid waste disposal facilities. Proposed law retains present law.
Proposed law prohibits the secretary from issuing any permit or permit renewal or promulgate
any rule or regulation which would allow the construction or operation of a landfill facility used
exclusively for the disposal or storage of waste tire material.
Proposed law provides that proposed law shall not apply to waste tire material that is recycled or
that reaches end-market uses in the construction of a landfill facility.
