Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 1127 BY REPRESENTATIVE LOPINTO MTR VEHICLE/WINDSHIELDS: Extends the medical exemption to the area below the top six inches of a vehicle windshield if authorized by an optometrist or a physician AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 32:361.2(D), relative to medical exemptions applicable to2 operating a motor vehicle; to provide that the medical exemption shall apply to the3 top area of a motor vehicle windshield with the required medical authorization; and4 to provide for related matters.5 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6 Section 1. R.S. 32:361.2(D) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:7 ยง361.2. Medical exemption8 * * *9 D. Present law prohibits that any exemption granted pursuant to present law from applying to the area below the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield. Proposed law allows the medical exemption to apply to the area below the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield if the optometrist or physician granting or requesting the medical exemption specifically authorizes it.
