Abstract: Allows the medical exemption for the area below the top six inches of a vehicle
windshield to apply for a patient diagnosed with a light sensitive porphyria.
Present law prohibits that any exemption granted pursuant to present law from applying to the
area below the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield.
Proposed law allows the medical exemption to apply to the area below the top six inches of a
motor vehicle windshield if the optometrist or physician granting or requesting the medical
exemption specifically authorizes it for a patient with a light sensitive porphyria.
