Page 1 of 1 Lopinto (HB 1127) Act No. 433 Existing law prohibits the operation of a motor vehicle with any object or material placed or affixed to the front windshield or front side windows so as to obstruct or reduce the driver's view or affix a transparent material that alters the color or reduces light transmission of the front windshield or front side windows. Provides for exceptions, including medical exemptions. Prior law prohibited any medical exemption granted pursuant to existing law from applying to the area below the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield. New law allows the medical exemption to apply to the area below the top six inches of a motor vehicle windshield if the optometrist or physician granting or requesting the medical exemption specifically authorizes it for a patient with a light sensitive porphyria. Effective August 1, 2014. (Amends R.S. 32:361.2(D))
