Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 1128 BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON HOLIDAYS: Authorizes higher education employees to take paid leave on Veterans' Day to attend certain events AN ACT1 To amend and reenact R.S. 1:55(F), relative to legal holidays; to authorize certain employees2 to attend Veterans' Day activities and events with compensation; and to provide for3 related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 1:55(F) is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows: 6 ยง55. Days of public rest, legal holidays, and half-holidays7 * * *8 F. Each institution of higher education in the state, through a representative9 appointed by it, shall designate a maximum of fourteen legal holidays per calendar10 year to be observed by all of its employees.
