Abstract: Authorizes employees of institutions of higher education who are veterans to attend
Veterans' Day related events with pay.
Present law requires each institution of higher education to designate a maximum of 14 legal
holidays per calendar year to be observed by its employees.
Proposed law requires the institution to allow employees who are veterans as defined by 	present
law (R.S. 29:251.2) to attend events related to Veterans' Day with compensation for no more than
four hours when such activities occur on a regularly scheduled workday.
