Abstract: Authorizes the acceptance of special identification cards of another state for purposes
of selling or serving alcoholic beverages.
Present law prohibits a person holding a retail dealer's permit or the agent, associate, employee,
representative, or servant of any such person to sell or serve alcoholic beverages to any person
under the age of 21 years, on or about the licensed premises unless such person submits any one
of the following:
(1)A valid, current, Louisiana driver's license which contains a photograph of the person
presenting the driver's license.
(2)A valid, current, driver's license of another state which contains a photograph of the
person and birth date of the person submitting the driver's license.
(3)A valid, current, special identification card issued by La. pursuant to 	present law (R.S.
40:1321) containing a photograph of the person submitting the identification card.
(4)A valid, current, passport or visa issued by the federal government or another country or
nation, that contains a photograph of the person and the date of birth of the person
submitting the passport or visa.
(5)A valid, current, military or federal identification card issued by the federal government
containing a photograph of the person and date of birth of the person submitting the
identification card.
Proposed law retains present law and adds a valid, current,  special identification card issued by
another state as acceptable proof of identification and age.
