HIGHWAYS: Renames a portion of Louisiana Highway 3179 in St. John Parish as "Martin
Luther King, Jr. Boulevard"
AN ACT1
To rename a portion of Louisiana Highway 3179 in St. John Parish as "Martin Luther King,2
Jr. Boulevard"; and to provide for related matters.3
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:4
Section 1. The portion of Louisiana Highway 3179, from a point at the intersection5
of U.S. Highway 61and Louisiana Highway 3179, commonly referred to as East 22nd Street,6
traveling south until the intersection of Louisiana Highway 44, commonly referred to as7
"River Road", is hereby renamed and designated as "Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard".8
Section 2. The Department of Transportation and Development or its contractors are9
hereby directed to erect and maintain appropriate signage reflecting this designation.10
