INSURANCE: Adds a representative of the National Association of Mutual Insurance
Companies to the Louisiana Property and Casualty Insurance Commission
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 22:2171(C)(20) and (E)(3), relative to the Louisiana Property and Casualty2
Insurance Commission; to provide for the membership of the commission; to provide3
that the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies shall appoint a4
representative to the commission; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1.  R.S. 22:2171(C)(20) and (E)(3) are hereby enacted to read as follows: 7
ยง2171. Louisiana Property and Casualty Insurance Commission8

C. The commission shall consist of the following members:10

(20) A representative of the National Association of Mutual Insurance12
Companies.13

E. The automobile insurance ad hoc committee shall consist of the following15

Abstract: Provides for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies to appoint
a representative to the La. Property and Casualty Commission.
Present law creates the La. Property and Casualty Insurance Commission within the Dept.
of Insurance. The commission is charged with reviewing and examining the availability and
affordability of property and casualty insurance in the state.  Present law provides for 23
members on the commission.
Proposed law allows the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies to appoint
a representative to the commission.
Proposed law also adds a representative to the automobile insurance ad hoc committee of
the commission.
