[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] Lorusso HB No. 1149 Abstract: Provides for the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies to appoint a representative to the La. Property and Casualty Commission. Present law creates the La. Property and Casualty Insurance Commission within the Dept. of Insurance. The commission is charged with reviewing and examining the availability and affordability of property and casualty insurance in the state. Present law provides for 23 members on the commission. Proposed law allows the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies to appoint a representative to the commission. Proposed law also adds a representative to the automobile insurance ad hoc committee of the commission. Proposed law also adds a representative to the homeowners ad hoc committee and to the workers' compensation committee of the commission.
