AN ACT1
To amend and reenact Code of Civil Procedure Article 4843(H), relative to courts of limited2
jurisdiction; to provide for the jurisdictional amount in dispute in certain city courts;3
to provide for the jurisdictional amount in dispute in the city courts of Alexandria,4
Pineville, Slidell, and Ruston; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. Code of Civil Procedure Article 4843(H) is hereby amended and7
reenacted to read as follows: 8
Art. 4843. City court jurisdiction; amount in dispute; injunctive actions by state or9
political subdivision10

H. In the City Court of Alexandria, the City Court of Pineville, the City12
Court of Slidell, and the City Court of Ruston, the civil jurisdiction is concurrent13
with the district court in cases where the amount in dispute, or the value of the14
property involved, does not exceed the amount provided in Article 1732(1) for15
purposes of demanding a jury trial fifty thousand dollars.16
