Mack (HB 155) Act No. 785 Existing law provides supplemental pay of $500 per month to every commissioned law enforcement officer employed on a full-time basis by a police agency of the state or its political subdivisions, other than DPS&C and the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries, headquartered in New Orleans who provides police services to the general public while patrolling levees, waterways, and riverfront areas, or while patrolling bridges that are within the city limits. Requires such law enforcement officers to have completed one year of service to be eligible for such supplemental pay. New law allows the following to apply as credit towards the one year of service: service of a P.O.S.T.-certified law enforcement officer employed by DPS&C, the Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries, the division of probation and parole, or a retired state police officer who receives compensation under provisions of existing law (R.S. 40:1457). Effective Aug. 1, 2014. (Adds R.S. 33:2218.2(A)(2)(d))
