Existing law provides that any person who qualifies to run for the office of constable after
2008 shall not have attained the age of 70 years by the date of qualification, and further
provides that any constable who attained 70 years of age while serving a term of office would
be allowed to complete that term of office.
New law adds an exemption for any person who qualifies to run for the office of constable
in Livingston Parish.
Effective Aug. 1, 2014.
