ACT No. 231 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 242 BY REPRESENTATIVE ARMES AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 17:419.3, relative to school support personnel; to provide with respect to2 compensation for school support personnel who serve as substitute teachers; and to3 provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 17:419.3 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6 ยง419.3. Compensation for school support employees serving as substitute teachers7 A. A school support employee shall be compensated at a rate not less than8 that of a substitute teacher for all work performed as a substitute teacher.9 Compensation for such work shall not be considered an increase in base salary and10 shall not be considered in the calculation of the employee's salary in the following11 school year. The provisions of this Subsection shall not apply to any day on which12 the school support employee performs work as a substitute teacher for less than a13 single class period.14 B.
