Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 254 BY REPRESENTATIVES LORUSSO, ADAMS, BILLIOT, LEOPOLD, AND WILLMOTT AND SENATORS APPEL, MARTI NY, AND PETERSON AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 41:1224.1, relative to leases of certain marina property operated by Jefferson2 Parish; to exempt such leases from general requirements for advertising and bidding;3 and to provide for related matters.4 Notice of intention to introduce this Act has been published5 as provided by Article III, Section 13 of the Constitution of6 Louisiana.7 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:8 Section 1. R.S. 41:1224.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows:9 ยง1224.1. Exceptions to advertisement and bidding requirements10 The provisions of this Chapter do not apply to the lease or sublease of boat11 slips of the Bucktown Marina that are owned and operated by the governing12 authority of Jefferson Parish pursuant to a lease between the state and the parish,13 provided that all boat slips in the marina shall be leased on a first-come, first-served14 basis for fair market value as determined by an appraiser and that the rates for and15 availability of such slips shall be published in the official journal of the parish.16 Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not17 signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature18 by the governor, as provided in Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.
