Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE BILL NO. 344 BY REPRESENTATIVE ARMES WILDLIFE & FISHERIES: Provides relative to fees for hunting and fishing licenses paid by surviving spouses of members of the military killed in action AN ACT1 To enact R.S. 56:104(B)(3) and 302.2(D), relative to fees for hunting and fishing licenses;2 to provide relative to fees to be paid by surviving spouses of members of certain3 military service branches killed in action; and to provide for related matters.4 Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5 Section 1. R.S. 56:104(B)(3) and 302.2(D) are hereby enacted to read as follows:6 §104. License fees; reciprocity; exceptions7 * * *8 B.9 * * *10 (3) Any resident of Louisiana who is the surviving spouse of a member of11 the United States Armed Forces, the Louisiana Army National Guard, or the12 Louisiana Air National Guard who was killed in action while in a combat zone, upon13 showing identification and documentation satisfactory to the department, shall be14 issued all hunting licenses and permits for a total fee of two dollars and fifty cents.15 * * *16 §302.2. Present law requires the payment of fees for the issuance of hunting and fishing licenses. Provides for certain exemptions from those fees. Proposed law provides that any resident of La. who is the surviving spouse of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, the La. Army National Guard, or the La. Air National Guard who was killed while in action in a combat zone shall be issued all hunting licenses and permits for a total fee of $2.50 and recreational and saltwater fishing licenses for a total fee of $2.50.
