HOUSE BILL NO. 380
BY REPRESENTATIVE GEYMANN
FUNDS/FUNDING: Prohibits the use of state funds for certain assessments without
legislative authority
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 39:88, relative to the expenditure of state funds; to prohibit the expenditure2
of state funds for certain assessments of students; to provide an exception; and to3
provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 39:88 is hereby enacted to read as follows: 6
ยง88.  Use of state funds prohibited; assessments; exception 7
No state funds may be expended for the implementation or administration of8
any assessment proposed or developed by the Partnership for Assessment of9
Readiness for College and Careers, the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium,10
or any other equivalent national group or consortium unless specifically authorized11
by law.12
