Page 1 of 1 Havard (HB 386) Act No. 166 Existing law allowed police officers to issue traffic citations for failing to comply with the inspection requirements to drivers of trailers who do not have the title and registration on their person. New law provides that in order to be in compliance with the inspection laws, an owner or operator of a light trailer, utility trailer, boat trailer, or farm trailer need only provide the inspecting officer with a valid inspection sticker, as opposed to the title and registration of the trailer. Effective Aug. 1, 2014. (Amends R.S. 32:1304(A)(3)(b))
