APPROPRIATIONS/JUDGMENT: Appropriates funds for payment of judgment against
the Department of Transportation and Development in the matter of "Edith Brooks
v. Mazda Motor Corporation of Japan, et al"
AN ACT1
To appropriate funds out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2014-2
2015 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of3
Transportation and Development in the suit entitled "Edith Brooks v. Mazda Motor4
Corporation of Japan, et al"; and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. The sum of Twenty-Five Thousand and No/100 ($25,000.00) Dollars is7
hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the state of Louisiana for Fiscal Year 2014-8
2015 to be used to pay the consent judgment against the Department of Transportation and9
Development in the suit entitled "Edith Brooks v. Mazda Motor Corporation of Japan, et al",10
bearing Number 99-6631 B on the docket of the 12th Judicial District Court, parish of11
Avoyelles, state of Louisiana.12
Section 2. This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2014; if vetoed by the governor13
and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become effective on July 1,14
2014, or on the day following such approval by the legislature, whichever is later. 15 HLS 14RS-472 ORIGINAL
