St. Germain HB No. 537
Abstract: Provides notification to new resident vehicle owners of the time limit for paying
license taxes.
Proposed law requires the office of motor vehicles to notify new residents upon the issuance of a
driver's license or a special identification card that an owner of a motor vehicle has 30 days from
the date of notification to pay such taxes before penalties and interest begin to accrue.
