Abstract: Creates the "Mount Carmel Academy" special prestige license plate.
Proposed law provides for the design and creation of the "Mount Carmel Academy" special
prestige license plate provided there is a minimum of one thousand applicants.
Proposed law provides the license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any citizen of
Louisiana in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the collection of a $15 royalty fee, as well as a handling fee of $3.50
for each plate to be retained by the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to offset a portion of
administrative costs.
Proposed law provides that monies collected by the department and forwarded to Mount Carmel
Academy, or its successor organization, be used to provide young women the opportunity to
develop their God-given talents through academic excellence and cocurricular programs.
