[R.S. 1:13(B) and 24:177(E)] Alfred Williams HB No. 674 Abstract: Authorizes the use of a mode of transportation other than an ambulance in a nonemergency situation if the mode of transportation is capable of fitting and supporting a stretcher and the conveyance may be made without endangering the individual's health. Present law provides for the regulation of emergency medical transportation including ambulances and other emergency medical response vehicles. Proposed law retains present law and authorizes the use of a mode of transportation other than an ambulance to transport an injured or ill individual in a nonemergency situation, provided the alternative mode of transportation is capable of fitting and supporting a stretcher and the conveyance may be made without endangering the individual's health.
