EMPLOYMENT/UNEMPLOYMENT:  Provides with respect to the ability to file quarterly
reports by magnetic media
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 23:1531.1(A)(introductory paragraph) and (D), relative to the2
electronic filing of contribution and wage reports; to remove the ability to file by3
magnetic media; to provide with respect to the Administrative Procedure Act; and4
to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. R.S. 23:1531.1(A)(introductory paragraph) and (D) are hereby amended7
and reenacted to read as follows:8
ยง1531.1. Electronic filing of contribution and wage reports; employer registrations9
A. The executive director may require the following employers to file both10
their contribution and wage reports on magnetic media or by other any electronic11
means at the following times:12

D. The electronic filing requirement shall be implemented by rule adopted14
and promulgated with legislative oversight in accordance with the Administrative15
Procedure Act, R.S. 49:950 et seq.16

Abstract: Deletes magnetic media from the options for the electronic filing of contribution
and wage reports.
Present law provides that employers accrue and must pay contributions with respect to
wages  for employment.
Present law provides for deadlines and time frames for the submission of reports and
contributions.
Present law provides that contribution and wage reports may be filed by magnetic media or
other electronic means.
Proposed law deletes the ability to file by magnetic media and provides that contribution and
wage reports be filed by any electronic means.
