LAW ENFORCE/CRIM JUS COM:  Requires the Crime Victims Reparation Board to
submit its report electronically
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 46:1818, relative to the Crime Victims Reparations Act; to2
provide requirements for the annual report containing activities of the Crime Victims3
Reparations Board; and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1.  R.S. 46:1818 is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:6
ยง1818.  Report to legislature and governor7
The board shall submit an annual written report to the legislature and the8
governor detailing its activities during the preceding year.  The report shall be made9
available electronically on the website of the Louisiana Commission on Law10
Enforcement.  A sufficient number of copies shall be printed for distribution to the11
governor, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, the chairman of the12
Senate Committee on Judiciary C, and  to as many others as may be requested.13
Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not14
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without signature15
by the governor, as provided by Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of Louisiana.  If16
vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act shall become17

Abstract: Requires the Crime Victims Reparations Board to submit an annual electronic
report detailing its activities during the preceding year.
Present law provides that the Crime Victims Reparations Board shall submit an annual report
to the legislature and governor detailing its activities during the preceding year.
Proposed law retains present law but provides that the annual report submitted by the Crime
Victims Reparations Board shall be made available electronically on the website of the La.
Commission on Law Enforcement.
Proposed law further provides that sufficient copies of the report shall be distributed to the
governor, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, the chairman of the Senate
Committee on Judiciary C, and as many others as requested.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
