HIGHWAYS: Amends the spelling of the "Hadley J. Castille-Pecanaire Highway"
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact Section 1 of Act No. 25 of the 2013 Regular Session of the2
Legislature, relative to the "Hadley J. Castille-Pecanaire Highway"; to correct the3
spelling of signage erected by the Department of Transportation and Development;4
and to provide for related matters.5
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:6
Section 1. Section 1 of Act No. 25 of the 2013 Regular Session of the Legislature7
is hereby amended and reenacted to read as follows:8
Section 1. That portion of Louisiana Highway 741, near Pecanaire Pacanière,9
Louisiana, between its intersection with LA 31 and its intersection with US 190 in10
St. Landry Parish, shall be hereinafter known and designated as the "Hadley J.11
Castille-Pecanaire Pacanière Highway".12

Section 2. This Act shall become effective upon signature by the governor or, if not14
signed by the governor, upon expiration of the time for bills to become law without the15
signature by the governor, as provided in Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of16
Louisiana. If vetoed by the governor and subsequently approved by the legislature, this Act17

Present law designates the portion of La. Highway 741, near Pecanaire, La., between its
intersection with LA 31 and its intersection with US 190 in St. Landry Parish, as the "Hadley
J. Castille-Pecanaire Highway".
Proposed law corrects the spelling of "Hadley J. Castille-Pecanaire Highway" by changing
it to "Hadley J. Castille-Pacanière Highway".
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
