Abstract: Requires that submission by contractors and subcontractors to the La. Workforce
Commission pursuant to the Louisiana First Hiring Act include certain information.
Present law requires a contractor for public works with the office of coastal protection and
restoration to submit information to the La. Workforce Commission. The information includes
the number and types of jobs anticipated to be created, wages, and methods to be used by the
contractor to recruit unemployed persons or persons working at low wages to fill job openings
expected to result from the contract.
Proposed law retains present law except requires the submitted information to include the
number and types of jobs anticipated to be filled by contractors and, after the award of the
contract, subcontractors and the method of recruitment used.
