Abstract: Creates the "George Rodrigue Foundation" special prestige license plate.
Proposed law provides for the design and creation of the "George Rodrigue Foundation" special
prestige license plate provided there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants.
Proposed law provides for the collection of a $30 royalty fee, as well as a handling fee of $3.50
for each plate to be retained by the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to offset a portion of
administrative costs.
Proposed law provides that monies collected by the department and forwarded to the George
Rodrigue Foundation, or its successor organization, be used to plan, develop, and implement a
series of unique educational art programs that are specially designed to enhance and expand art
curriculums and expose children to education in the arts.
