Abstract: Creates the "Louisiana Master Gardener" special prestige license plate.
Proposed law provides for the design and creation of the "Louisiana Master Gardener" special
prestige license plate provided there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants.
Proposed law requires the license plate be issued, upon application, to any citizen of Louisiana in
the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the collection of a $10 royalty fee, as well as a handling fee of $3.50
for each plate to be retained by the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to offset a portion of
administrative costs.
Proposed law provides that monies collected by the department and forwarded to the Louisiana
Master Gardener Program of the LSU AgCenter, or its successor organization, be used to develop
and enhance community programs related to horticulture.
