MOTOR VEHICLES: Provides for acts of donation of a motor vehicle without an authentic
act
AN ACT1
To enact R.S. 32:705.1, relative to donations of motor vehicles; to provide for donations of2
motor vehicles by an act under private signature duly acknowledged; and to provide3
for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 32:705.1 is hereby enacted to read as follows:6
ยง705.1. Acts of Donation; titled motor vehicles7
For purposes of transferring a titled motor vehicle by an act of donation, an8
act under private signature duly acknowledged may be used in lieu of an authentic9
act.10

Proposed law provides that a donation of a titled motor vehicle may be executed by an act
under private signature duly acknowledged in lieu of an authentic act.
