New law provides for the design and creation of the Lung Cancer Alliance special prestige
license plate provided there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants.
New law provides for the collection of a $50 royalty fee, as well as a handling fee of $3.50
for each plate to be retained by the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to offset a portion
of administrative costs.
New law provides that monies collected by the department and forwarded to the Lung Cancer
Alliance, or its successor organization, be used solely for the support of programs established
and administered by the Lung Cancer Alliance in Louisiana.
New law authorizes the secretary to promulgate rules and regulations to implement new law.
Effective August 1, 2014.
