Abstract: Requires all overhead power lines, their wattage, and owner to be illustrated or
identified on plans for Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) public
works projects.
Proposed law requires DOTD or the design professional on the plans for any department public
works project, to locate and illustrate all overhead power lines and indicate the wattage and
identify the owner of each and all such lines.
Proposed law provides that if the department or design professional of record fails to locate and
illustrate all overhead power lines and indicate the wattage thereof and identify the owner of each
and all such lines that contractor shall be released from any liability in connection with their
damage unless such damage is caused by the negligence of the contractor.
Proposed law requires the chief engineer of the department to direct that all projects that do not
have a full topographic survey include information required by proposed law.
