Abstract: Creates the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence special prestige license
plate for domestic violence awareness.
Proposed law provides for the design and creation of the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic
Violence special prestige license plate provided there is a minimum of 1,000 applicants.
Proposed law provides the license plate shall be issued, upon application, to any citizen of
Louisiana in the same manner as any other motor vehicle license plate.
Proposed law provides for the collection of a $30 royalty fee, as well as a handling fee of $3.50
for each plate to be retained by the Dept. of Public Safety and Corrections to offset a portion of
administrative costs.
Proposed law provides that monies collected by the department and forwarded to the Louisiana
Coalition Against Domestic Violence, or its successor organization, are to be used to eliminate
domestic violence through public education, systems change, social change, and public policy.
Proposed law requires the secretary to adopt rules and regulations to implement proposed law.
