SCHOOLS:  Provides relative to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA)
AN ACT1
To amend and reenact R.S. 17:1970.24(B)(1)(a)(ii)(bb), relative to the New Orleans Center2
for Creative Arts; to provide with respect to the membership of its board of directors;3
and to provide for related matters.4
Be it enacted by the Legislature of Louisiana:5
Section 1. R.S. 17:1970.24(B)(1)(a)(ii)(bb) is hereby amended and reenacted to read6
as follows: 7
ยง1970.24.  Board of directors; creation; membership; terms; powers and duties;8
voting; compensation9

B.(1) The board of directors shall be composed of thirteen persons as11
follows:12

(ii)  Effective July 1, 2012, and thereafter, two members as follows:15

(bb) The An employee of the state Department of Education appointed by17

Abstract: Provides relative to the membership of the board of directors of the New Orleans
Center for Creative Arts.
Present law provides for the creation of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA).
Further provides for the creation of a board of directors to be composed of 13 members.
Present law provides that one of the members is the state superintendent of education.
Proposed law replaces such member with an employee of the state Dept. of Education,
appointed by the state superintendent of education; otherwise retains present law.
