Robideaux	HB No. 992
Abstract: Exempts the lease or other alienation of specified property, locally known as the
"Horse Farm", in Lafayette Parish from laws regulating leases of public property, which
include requirements for advertising and bidding.
Present law establishes procedures applicable to the lease of public property; generally requires
the public entity to publicly advertise the proposed lease to solicit bidders and requires the
awarding of the lease to the highest bidder who meets the requirements of law. Provides relative
to terms and renewals of such leases. Provides exceptions.
Proposed law provides an additional exception from present law applicable to the lease or other
alienation of specified property, locally known as the "Horse Farm" and adjacent property in
Lafayette Parish. Otherwise retains present law.
Effective upon signature of governor or lapse of time for gubernatorial action.
