HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 185
BY REPRESENTATIVE JEFFERSON AND SENATOR WALSWORTH
COMMENDATIONS:  Commends the Haynesville High School boys' track and field team
upon winning the Class 1A outdoor state championship
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the Haynesville High School Golden Tornado boys' track team upon winning2
the Class 1A outdoor state championship.3
WHEREAS, the Haynesville High School track team completed a sensational season4
by holding off White Castle, Southern Lab, and Vermilion Catholic; and5
WHEREAS, the Golden Tornado claimed the 4x100-meter relay title with the team6
of Damarcian McCutchen, James Jackson, Cavontae Critton, and Felix Evans with a time7
of 42.82 seconds; and8
WHEREAS, McCutchen finished fourth in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash9
and Cutter Nelson finished sixth in the 300-meter hurdles to help the team earn sixty-three10
points; and11
WHEREAS, Cavontae Critton and James Jackson finished second and fifth,12
respectively, in the long jump and Delandre Kingsby finished first in the high jump; and13
WHEREAS, Cutter Nelson finished sixth in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the14
110 meter hurdles, Keandre Harris finished second in the javelin, Tyus Early finished fourth15
in the shot put, and Kendrick Jackson finished third in the discus; and16
WHEREAS, the members of the team performed at the highest level of excellence17
throughout the meet, and each of these great competitors deserves recognition for his vital18

WHEREAS, the coaches and staff instilled an ethic of winning and demonstrated the1
kind of leadership and motivational skills needed to produce winners both on and off the2
track; and3
WHEREAS, the remarkable talents and determination of each member of the team4
provided the state of Louisiana with outstanding track competition while each young man5
maintained the highest level of sportsmanship and displayed great character; and6
WHEREAS, the outstanding feats of the team members and coaches of the7
Haynesville boys' track and field team merit a sincere measure of commendation for the8
pride and honor they have brought to their school and families, the state of Louisiana, and9
the Haynesville community.10
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby11
commend the Haynesville High School boys' track team upon its memorable and historic12
victory in the 2014 State Championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players,13
coaches, and everyone involved with this fine athletic program as they celebrate their14
exceptional achievements and prepare for continued success in the future.15
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted16
to the coach of the Haynesville High School track team.17
