COMMENDATIONS: Commends the New Living Word School boys' track and field team
upon winning the 2014 Class C state championship
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend the New Living Word School boys' track and field team upon winning the2
2014 Class C state championship.3
WHEREAS, the New Living Word School track and field team completed a4
sensational season when they earned the title of 2014 Class C state champions with a5
thrilling score of one hundred twenty-two points; and6
WHEREAS, Rontravion Bryant took first place in the high jump event and placed7
first in 400 meter dash with a time of 59.81 seconds; and8
WHEREAS, Fredrion "Fred" Evans placed first in three events, including the long9
jump, the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.49 seconds, and the 200 meter dash with a time10
of 23.37 seconds; and11
WHEREAS, LaTario Davis placed third in the 800 meter run with a time of 212
minutes and 13.59 seconds; Kwantavious Harris took first place in the triple jump event;13
Alijwon "Lee" Mason placed third in the long jump; Xavious Williams placed third in the14
shot put event; Jeremy Patton placed fifth in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.4515
seconds; and Rashaan Proctor took second place in the triple jump event and placed fourth16
in the 400 meter dash with a time of 56.15 seconds; and17
WHEREAS, Fred Evans, Kwantavious Harris, Lee Mason, and Jeremy Patton placed18
first in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 45.70 seconds; and19
WHEREAS, Fred Evans, Kwantavious Harris, Lee Mason, and Justin Onwuzulike20

WHEREAS, Rontravion Bryant, Lee Mason, Jeremy Patton, and Rashaan Proctor1
placed first in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3 minutes and 40.27 seconds; and2
WHEREAS, all members of the New Living Word School track and field team3
performed at the highest level of excellence throughout the 2014 season, and each of these4
great Lions deserves recognition for his vital contribution to the winning effort; and 5
WHEREAS, the amazing accomplishments of this team could not have been6
achieved without the guidance and skills of head coach Willie Richardson, assistant coaches7
Kevin Jackson, Antarian Griffin, and LaWanda Wright, and all of the other individuals who8
have contributed to the success of the school's track and field program; and9
WHEREAS, the team's outstanding season continues the Lions' winning tradition,10
and all New Living Word School fans recognize the immense pride and distinguished honor11
that the team brings to its school, community, and state. 12
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby13
commend the New Living Word School boys' track and field team upon winning the 201414
Class C state championship and does hereby extend best wishes to the players, coaches, and15
everyone involved with this fine track and field program as they celebrate their exceptional16
season and prepare for continued success in the future.17
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted18
to head coach, Willie Richardson.19
