HLS 14RS-5666 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 197 BY REPRESENTATIVE MORENO LEGISLATION: Provides for the designation of the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act" A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1 To designate the Act that originated as House Bill No. 753 of the 2014 Regular Session of2 the Legislature as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act" and to provide that this Act may3 be cited as and be referred to as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act".4 WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Louisiana, Susan Gouaux, known to her friends5 and family as "Pixie", was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; and6 WHEREAS, married to her husband, Phillip, for forty-three years, together they7 raised six beautiful daughters, Dionne, Andrea, Jeanne, Louise, Aimee, and Mattie, and8 cherished their grandchildren, Andrew, Jayden, Molly, Maycee, Connor, Samantha, Katelyn,9 Peter Henry, Megan, Luke, Mallory, Alex, and Ledger; and 10 WHEREAS, deeply involved in her community and parish, Pixie was a vital11 contributor to Lockport's society, was a proud member of the Lion's Club and the Women's12 Club of Lockport, and was a founding member of the Bayou Lafourche Folklife Heritage13 Museum, holding their first meeting at her kitchen table; and 14 WHEREAS, a talented needlewoman and knitter, Pixie designed the state15 bicentennial quilt square for Lafourche Parish and further served her community as a16 fundraiser, planner, and teacher's aide at Holy Savior Elementary School.17 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the18 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate the Act that originated as House Bill No. 75319 of the 2014 Regular Session of the Legislature as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act" and20 provides that this Act may be cited as and be referred to as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act".21 HLS 14RS-5666 ORIGINAL HCR NO. 197 Page 2 of 2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted1 to the family of Susan Gouaux.2 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
