ENROLLED Page 1 of 1 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 197 BY REPRESENTATIVE MORENO A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To designate the Act that originated as House Bill No. 753 of the 2014 Regular Session of the Legislature as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act" and to provide that this Act may be cited as and be referred to as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act". WHEREAS, a lifelong resident of Louisiana, Susan Gouaux, known to her friends and family as "Pixie", was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; and WHEREAS, married to her husband, Phillip, for forty-three years, together they raised six beautiful daughters, Dionne, Andrea, Jeanne, Louise, Aimee, and Mattie, and cherished their grandchildren, Andrew, Jayden, Molly, Maycee, Connor, Samantha, Katelyn, Peter Henry, Megan, Luke, Mallory, Alex, and Ledger; and WHEREAS, deeply involved in her community and parish, Pixie was a vital contributor to Lockport's society, was a proud member of the Lion's Club and the Women's Club of Lockport, and was a founding member of the Bayou Lafourche Folklife Heritage Museum, holding their first meeting at her kitchen table; and WHEREAS, a talented needlewoman and knitter, Pixie designed the state bicentennial quilt square for Lafourche Parish and further served her community as a fundraiser, planner, and teacher's aide at Holy Savior Elementary School. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby designate the Act that originated as House Bill No. 753 of the 2014 Regular Session of the Legislature as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act" and provides that this Act may be cited as and be referred to as the "Susan 'Pixie' Gouaux Act".
