HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 72

COMMENDATIONS: Commends Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction,
LLC, upon being named the 2014 Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To commend Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, upon being2
named the Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year for 2014.3
WHEREAS, each year, the United States Small Business Administration recognizes4
business owners and key executives in small businesses for their outstanding achievements5
and successes in their businesses and also their contributions to the nation; and6
WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, was7
nominated by the Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (LA-PTAC) for the8
2014 Small Business Person of the Year for Louisiana in recognition of his exemplary9
leadership; and10
WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has over fifty years of combined experience11
in the construction industry and became a Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance12
Center (LA-PTAC) client in March of 2010, at such time as he was counseled in the field13
of government contracts; and14
WHEREAS, under the leadership and vision of Keith DuRousseau, Keiland15
Construction, LLC, has worked on a variety of projects with agencies such as the United16
States Army Corps of Engineers-New Orleans District, Fort Polk, Federal Aviation17
Administration, Department of Defense, Navy, and Barksdale Air Force Base; and18
WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has also performed work for the United19
States Department of the Interior and state and local governing agencies, some of which20

WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau's company has been awarded government contracts1
that total over twenty-three million dollars; and2
WHEREAS, under Keith DuRousseau's exceptional leadership, Keiland3
Construction, LLC, has recently expanded into the commercial construction arena and has4
completed several projects in Lake Charles, Louisiana; and5
WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau leads the way for the small business community by6
his notable professional accomplishments, community participation, and reputation for7
integrity; he has spent countless hours sharing and counseling with other local small8
businesses in advising them how to better position their businesses for success and meet the9
challenges of organization, marketing integrity, and efficiency; and10
WHEREAS, Mr. DuRousseau is a strong advocate for safety, integrity, and diversity11
within the workplace, whether it is in the office or at an on-site construction project; and12
WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has received significant support and13
training from many programs, including the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(A)14
program; and15
WHEREAS, Mr. DuRousseau was selected by the United States Small Business16
Association as the Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year, and will be honored in May17
of this year during National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C.18
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby19
commend Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, for his exemplary20
leadership and dedication in the small business community, and upon being named the 201421
Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year.22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted23
to Keith DuRousseau.24
