ENROLLED Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON NO. 72 BY REPRESENTATIVE LEGER A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON To commend Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, upon being named the Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year for 2014. WHEREAS, each year, the United States Small Business Administration recognizes business owners and key executives in small businesses for their outstanding achievements and successes in their businesses and also their contributions to the nation; and WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, was nominated by the Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (LA-PTAC) for the 2014 Small Business Person of the Year for Louisiana in recognition of his exemplary leadership; and WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has over fifty years of combined experience in the construction industry and became a Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center (LA-PTAC) client in March of 2010, at such time as he was counseled in the field of government contracts; and WHEREAS, under the leadership and vision of Keith DuRousseau, Keiland Construction, LLC, has worked on a variety of projects with agencies such as the United States Army Corps of Engineers-New Orleans District, Fort Polk, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Defense, Navy, and Barksdale Air Force Base; and WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has also performed work for the United States Department of the Interior and state and local governing agencies, some of which include port and transportation authorities; and WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau's company has been awarded government contracts that total over twenty-three million dollars; and ENROLLEDHCR NO. 72 Page 2 of 2 WHEREAS, under Keith DuRousseau's exceptional leadership, Keiland Construction, LLC, has recently expanded into the commercial construction arena and has completed several projects in Lake Charles, Louisiana; and WHEREAS, Keith DuRousseau leads the way for the small business community by his notable professional accomplishments, community participation, and reputation for integrity; he has spent countless hours sharing and counseling with other local small businesses in advising them how to better position their businesses for success and meet the challenges of organization, marketing integrity, and efficiency; and WHEREAS, Mr. DuRousseau is a strong advocate for safety, integrity, and diversity within the workplace, whether it is in the office or at an on-site construction project; and WHEREAS, Keiland Construction, LLC, has received significant support and training from many programs, including the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(A) program; and WHEREAS, Mr. DuRousseau was selected by the United States Small Business Association as the Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year, and will be honored in May of this year during National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend Keith DuRousseau, President of Keiland Construction, LLC, for his exemplary leadership and dedication in the small business community, and upon being named the 2014 Louisiana Small Business Person of the Year.
