Resource Management Day
A CONCURRENT RESOLUTI ON1
To recognize Thursday, March 13, 2014, as Human Resource Management Day in Louisiana2
and to commend the members of the Louisiana Society for Human Resource3
Management.4
WHEREAS, human resource management plays a vital role in maintaining the5
functionality of workforces in society, and organizations rely on human resource6
management for not only the hiring and training of employees but for the assessment and7
rewarding of employees as well; and8
WHEREAS, the Society for Human Resource Management is the largest professional9
human resources association in the United States, and the Louisiana Society for Human10
Resource Management is a local, affiliated chapter of the association; and11
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management acts as a12
source of information, communication, and networking to enhance knowledge and improve13
the services of human resource management professionals; and14
WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management consists of ten15
local chapters and seven student chapters which effectively provide services to members16
across the entire state of Louisiana and promote awareness of and attention to the field of17

WHEREAS, the Louisiana Society for Human Resource management serves as an1
important association in the state by providing a community for human resource2
professionals, building and sustaining partnerships, and proactively providing education and3
research to human resource professionals.4
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of Louisiana does hereby5
recognize Thursday, March 13, 2014, as Human Resource Management Day in Louisiana6
and does hereby commend the members of the Louisiana Society for Human Resource7
Management for their significant contributions to the citizens of Louisiana.8
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted9
to the Louisiana Society for Human Resource Management.10
