HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 110
BY REPRESENTATIVE LEGER
A RESOLUTION
To commend and acknowledge the employees of the Department of Public Safety and
Corrections, youth services, office of juvenile justice.
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to commend and acknowledge the employees of the
office of juvenile justice for their outstanding public service and dedication to our youth; and
WHEREAS, the office of juvenile justice staff are trained professionals dedicated to
maintaining secure correctional facilities, ensuring the public safety, and assisting youth
within their care in redirecting their lives toward responsible citizenship; and
WHEREAS, employees of the office of juvenile justice are responsible for the
custody, care, and treatment of thousands of young people every year as well as the
maintenance of safe and secure facilities; and
WHEREAS, the office of juvenile justice employees work under very demanding and
stressful conditions, face many challenges, and put themselves at risk every day; and
WHEREAS, employees of the office of juvenile justice are some of the most
resourceful, capable, committed, patient, and persistent professionals in the criminal justice
system and in our nation; and
WHEREAS, the office of juvenile justice employees serve admirably in many
different capacities, including administrators, juvenile justice specialists, social services
workers, medical supervisors, managers, and directors; and
WHEREAS, employees of the office of juvenile justice teach, train, mentor, counsel,
and treat young people; and
WHEREAS, the office of juvenile justice staff provide youth with direction, hope,
and a new focus while preparing them for reentry and life in their communities; and
WHEREAS, employees of the office of juvenile justice staff rise to the challenges
they face in this honorable profession and serve nobly and admirably; and ENROLLEDHR NO. 110

WHEREAS, the office of juvenile justice employees merit the highest commendation
and acknowledgment for the vital contributions they make every day.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby commend and acknowledge the employees of the
Department of Public Safety and Corrections, youth services, office of juvenile justice, for
their outstanding public service and singular contributions.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted
to Dr. Mary L. Livers, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections,
youth services, office of juvenile justice.
