CONDOLENCES:  Expresses condolences upon the death of Ronald Nicholas Mayeux of
Hessmer
A RESOLUTION1
To express the condolences of the House of Representatives upon the death of Ronald2
Nicholas Mayeux of Hessmer.3
WHEREAS, on April 29, 2014, Ronald Nicholas Mayeux left his labor of tilling in4
this life to experience the beauty of the evergreen gardens of eternity; and5
WHEREAS, Ronald Mayeux was a lifelong educator who began his career as a6
vocational agriculture teacher, progressing to the ranks of principal and coach at Hessmer7
High School, supervisor, and superintendent of Avoyelles Parish Schools for two separate8
terms; and9
WHEREAS, in his later years, Mr. Mayeux returned to his roots in vocational10
agriculture; he worked for the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center as the11
executive secretary of the Louisiana Future Farmers of America; and12
WHEREAS, an alumnus of Louisiana State University, Mr. Mayeux was an avid13
Tiger fan with a passion for baseball and softball who coached teams on several levels; he14
was instrumental in bringing Little League to Avoyelles Parish; and15
WHEREAS, Mr. Mayeux was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; mother and16
father, Eunice and Paul Mayeux; mother-in-law, Jannel Lambert; and brother, Gerald17
Chatelain; and18
WHEREAS, left behind to cherish his memory are his children, Eric Mayeux and19
wife Lisa, Jill Paul and husband John, Toni Dubroc and husband Randy, Kipp Mayeux and20
wife Jennalyn; grandchildren, Tory Parks and husband Thad, Ryne Mayeux and wife21 HLS 14RS-4379	ORIGINAL

Dakota, and Tyler Gagnard; great-grandchild, Emalynn Margaret Mayeux; father-in-law,1
Anthony Lambert; sister, Penny Lucci; sisters-in-law, Vicki Douglas and husband John Dale,2
and Janice Chatelain; nephews, Warren Douglas and Corey Chatelain; grand-niece Allyson3
Douglas; and a host of other family and friends; and4
WHEREAS, Mr. Mayeux helped to educate, motivate, and inspire a countless5
number of people throughout his lifetime, instilling in the youth of Louisiana the values of6
hearth and hard work, and it is with great sorrow that the members of the House of7
Representatives mourn his passing.8
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the9
Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere condolences upon the death of Ronald10
Nicholas Mayeux, does hereby extend heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of11
Mr. Mayeux, and does hereby share in prayers for comfort and peace.12
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted13
to the family of Ronald Nicholas Mayeux.14
