HLS 14RS-5004 ORIGINAL Page 1 of 2 Regular Session, 2014 HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 144 BY REPRESENTATIVE HAZEL CONDOLENCES: Expresses condolences upon the death of Ms. Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso A RESOLUTION1 To express the condolences of the Louisiana House of Representatives upon the death of2 Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso.3 WHEREAS, it is with deep regret and profound sorrow that the members of the4 Louisiana House of Representatives learned of the death of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso of5 Alexandria on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the age of eighty-nine; and6 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso, was born on August 8, 1924, and was a7 resident of Alexandria, Louisiana; and8 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso was an active member of the Catholic9 Daughters of America Court Bishop Desmond, St. Joseph Daughters, and the Amicus Club;10 and11 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso shared a passion for cooking and12 gardening; and13 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso touched many lives with her energetic14 love of church, family and friends; and15 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso was a loving wife, mother, grandmother,16 sister, niece, and friend, and loved spending time with her family, and in particular, taking17 care of her grandchildren; and18 WHEREAS, Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso will be dearly missed by her daughter,19 Donna G. Robinson and her husband Bill Elmer; her five sons, Sam J. Glorioso, Jr., and his20 wife Gracie of Alexandria; Joseph C. Glorioso and his wife Joan of Natchez, Louisiana;21 Charles P. Barrere of Mandeville; fourteen grandchildren;1 twenty-four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the House of Representatives of the3 Legislature of Louisiana does hereby express sincere and heartfelt condolences upon the4 death of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso, does hereby record for posterity the tremendous5 impact this kind, personable, loving, beautiful, and faithful lady made on her family and6 friends in Alexandria.7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be transmitted8 to the family of Carmel Marie Serio Glorioso.9 DIGEST The digest printed below was prepared by House Legislative Services.
